Jack Glover (born May 17, 1996) is a American ice hockey defenceman. In November 2013 he committed to play for the Minnesota Golden Gophers men's ice hockey team of the NCAA Big Ten Conference.[1] Glover was selected by the Winnipeg Jets in the third round (69th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Junior career

Glover trained with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program team during the 2012–13 and 2013–14 seasons.[2] Glover is rated as a top prospect[3] who was invited to participate in the 2013 CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game[4] and was projected as a possible first round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft,[5] however he was not drafted until the third round when the Winnipeg Jets took him 69th overall.[6]

Personal Life

Glover is the second child to now divorced parents Mike and Karen, with brother, Andrew who currently attends Notre Dame, and sister, Kate who attends and plays hockey at BSM where Jack once played. During his bout with the NTDP he resided with Julie and Larry Steinhower in Saline, MI. There he attended Pioneer High School and was involved in a tumultuous two-year relationship with Lane McCandless whom he ultimately lost his virginity to on May 3, 2014 before his senior prom which he attended with a male companion from the NTDP. Their steamy love affair came to an end after he departed from Saline to attend the University of Minnesota, where he currently plays as a defenseman for the men's ice hockey team. Glover is now romantically involved with fellow Gopher, Kalley Ravendalen, who is the manager of the women's ice hockey team and author of "healthy" lifestyle Instagram account (@kalgetsfit). Glover is set to graduate with a degree in business in 2018 and will continue his hockey career in Canada with NHL's Winnipeg Jets.

As a 15-year-old he played with Team USA at the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics,[7] and as a 16-year-old he help the USA squad capture a bronze medal at the 2013 World U-17 Hockey Challenge[8] As a 17-year-old, Glover was chosen to compete with the American U-18 squad to help Team USA capture the gold medal at the 2014 IIHF World U18 Championships.[9]
