Life and career

Jacinta was born in Portland, Oregon, USA, but at four months her family relocated to Sydney, Australia. After years of playing in bands, in 1997 Jacinta decided to take the solo artist route (with a solo name), writing and performing her own dance music around Australia. Eventually, she started her own record label, Chunky Music, as well, releasing her album, Sandalwood: Under the Influence, in 2000. The single "Fly"(Dark Hours) had enough play on Australian radio that it landed Jacinta a writing gig for the Australian/Canadian children's television show The Saddle Club, which spawned the single “Wonderland”, which hit #7 on the Australasian Top 20 Chart September 8th, 2003, ARIA Charts.,[1][2][3] "Wonderland" spent 11 weeks on the AIR Independent Charts, peaking at #2, October 13th, 2003.

After moving to Austin, Texas, to try her luck in the States, in 2005 Jacinta issued her second album, Smokescreen, whose first single, "Sunshine," had its own album of remixes that came out the same year. Destination followed in 2006, then top10 Billboard Dance Hit “Can’t Keep It A Secret” in 2007, and “Electric Universe” in 2008.

Billboard Magazine Chart Hits—In 2006, Sunshine rose to #20 on the Billboard Hot Club Play Chart, and in that same year, Destination climbed to #23. In 2007, Can't Keep it a Secret climbed to #7 on the Billboard Magazine Hot Club Play Chart.[4]

Her debut on the European Dance scene came in 2009 with “Share The Tears” by AurA and “Lost in A Dream” by Javah both featuring Jacinta’s vocals.
