JUCE TV[1] is an American Christian-based broadcast television network that is owned by the Trinity Broadcasting Network. The network, which is aimed at teenagers and young adults between the ages of 12- to 34-years-old, features music videos (similar to MTV, but with a Christian focus), religious-themed entertainment programming and some church services.

Overview

The channel began broadcasting in 2002 as JCTV. It was originally founded by Paul Crouch Jr. and his son, Brandon Crouch, with the intentions of airing first-run programs, new teen shows, and specials targeted at Christian youth throughout the world. Based out of TBN's headquarters in Santa Ana, California, the network televises its programming worldwide, covering parts of North America, Europe, Asia, and South America. The network relaunched as JUCE TV on January 1, 2014 with a new on-air logo and additional programming.[2]

Programming

JUCE TV combines music videos, youthful video jockeys, promotion of special Christian rock events, and news and documentaries about Christian bands and performers in an effort to establish popularity among Christian youth. The network also broadcasts some extreme sports programs that document extreme sports athletes and how their faith impacts their lives. In addition to music-based and action sports programming, JUCE TV also airs other programming such as the discussion program Ask God, the game show Virtual Memory with Jamie Alexander, the ministry program "Encounter TV" with David Diga Hernandez and the religious sitcom Peculiar. It also airs movies with religious and/or inspirational themes, typically on Friday and Sunday evenings, and Saturday afternoons. JUCE TV airs "sneak preview" blocks of its programming on TBN on Friday and Saturday late nights.[3]

Since February 2013, JUCE TV (then known as JCTV) also runs a week-long, semi-annual fundraising event called "Project JCTV"; the event features a mix of entertainment and religious-based programs regularly seen on JUCE TV's schedule (some organized by program genre in the form of theme days), movies as well as a live three-hour telethon-style program that airs in both during the afternoon and in primetime each day during the "Project JCTV" event (telecasts of regular programming during the event, including movies, are occasionally interrupted by interstitial segments to encourage viewers to make monetary pledges).

JUCE TV is carried over-the-air on digital subchannels of TBN owned-and-operated and affiliated stations nationwide, usually on the third subchannel (for example, if the local TBN station broadcasts on channel 17, then JUCE TV would be carried on digital subchannel 17.3). The network is also currently available through various cable providers nationwide as well as across North and Central America on Glorystar through the Ku band Galaxy 19 satellite and on C-Band Galaxy 14 satellite. The network is also live-streamed on its and TBN's official website as well as on the TBN Mobile App for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.

JUCE TV and other TBN-owned networks are broadcast internationally free-to-air via satellites such as ABS1 to India and Middle East on Ku band, Intelsat 701 and DTH to Australia and New Zealand on Optus B3 and also to Europe, North Africa and the Middle East via Eutelsat (Hotbird 13°E) and Agila 2 satellite (both C-band and Ku band signal) in Asia and the Philippines. Some JCTV programming can also be seen on Grace TV in Canada and on Trinity Broadcasting Network Europe.
