JLab Audio is an award winning[1] consumer audio brand founded in 2005.[2] Most recently the company was recognized for its Epic Bluetooth Headphones at 2015 International CES.[1] The company is most well known for the B-Flex portable USB lap top speaker, the JBuds earphones line, and a line of portable travel cases for earbuds, iPods, and other portable devices.[3] JLab has recently expanded their product line to include portable Bluetooth speakers and over-the-ear headphones.[4]

History

JLab is a designer and manufacturer of personal audio products. Their products include earbuds, headphones, and Bluetooth speakers.[5]

JLab launched the B-Flex portable USB lap top speaker in July, 2006.[6] The B-Flex is a stereo USB speaker on a flexible USB cable designed to boost the audio output from laptops, notebooks, net books, and other small computers. It also works as a speaker for desktops and can also act as a virtual sound card and speaker for desktops without a sound card.

Shortly after being launched, the B-Flex received international media attention, including positive reviews on Gizmodo and in WIRED magazine (which gave the product a rating of 7/10) due to its small size and solid build, respectively.[7][8] Cnet were a little more critical, awarding the product a rating of 3/5, citing "poor bass response" as its main detraction.[9]

In 2012, JLab relocated from Tucson, Arizona, to Oceanside, California.[10] Rosenfield said that his seven-year-old company was purchased in January by a Dallas, TX based private equity group.[11] In 2015, JLab's new Epic Bluetooth Earbuds won a TWICE Picks Award at International CES Show in Las Vegas.[1] The same Epic Bluetooth Headphones were featured in Livestrong.com as The Best Gear and Accessories for runners.,[12] PCMag called the Epic, "Powerful, distortion-free audio performance with deep bass presence. Secure fit. Splash-proof design. Lots of useful accessories."[13]
