J. Om Prakash

J. Om Prakash (b. 24 January 1927, Lahore, Punjab, British India) is a famous Indian film producer and director, best known for Aap Ki Kasam (1974) and Aasha (1980). .[1] His only daughter, Pinky, is married to director-producer Rakesh Roshan, making him the maternal grandfather of superstar actor Hrithik Roshan.[2][3]

After producing successful films like Aaye Din Bahar Ke (1966) and Aya Sawan Jhoom Ke (1969), he made his directorial debut with Aap Ki Kasam (1974), starring Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz. The film was a box office success, and is remembered for its songs by R. D. Burman including "Jai, Jai Shiv Shankar" and "Karwaten Badalte Rahen".[4] Most of his films started with the letter "A."

He was also elected President of the Film Federation of India (1995-1996). [5][6]
