Club career
Born in Baguim do Monte, Gondomar, Portugal, Rodrigues began playing football in 2004 when he joined SC Rio Tinto youth squads. He moved to F.C. Porto in 2008 where he went through the club's youth level's until the under-19 category. In the 2010–11 season, during a brief period he was also loaned to Padroense (club acting as a Porto U16 squad).
On 12 August 2013, Rodrigues made his professional debut with Porto B in a 2013–14 Segunda Liga match against Beira-Mar, replacing Mauro Caballero in the 60th minute of a 3–2 away victory.[1] In the beginning of the 2014–15 Segunda Liga he won the confidence of coach Luís Castro and became a starting player for the B-team. In 5 October 2014 he scored a hat-trick in a 7–0 home win against Olhanense.[2]
After scoring eleven goals for the B-squad he impressed manager Julen Lopetegui and in 14 January 2015, the youngster made his first team debut in a 3–1 home win against União da Madeira for the 2014–15 Taça da Liga group stage, where he played the first half of the match and was substituted because of a injury he contracted.[3]
In 2 February 2015, Rodrigues was loaned to Vitória de Guimarães and made his first team debut in a 2–0 home win against Belenenses for the Taça da Liga, playing a total of 83 minutes.[4][5]
