Ivan Rogers

Ivan Rogers (born 1960) is a senior British civil servant, currently the Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the European Union;[1] he undertook this role on the 4 November 2013. Prior to this Rodgers served as the Prime Minister's Adviser for Europe and Global Issues and the Head of the European and Global Issues Secretariat, based in the Prime Minister's Office at Number 10 and before that was the Principal Private Secretary to the Prime Minister.

He was previously Director of Budget and Public Finances and Director, European Policy at HM Treasury, Chief of Staff to Sir Leon Brittan, Vice President of the European Commission and Private Secretary to Kenneth Clarke, Chancellor of the Exchequer.

In the private sector Rogers worked as Head of the Public Sector Industry Group, UK and Ireland, at Barclays Capital from 2010 to 2011. Before this he was Head of the UK Public Sector Group at Citigroup from 2006 to 2010.

He was educated at Balliol College at the University of Oxford.
