István Kovács (born 27 March 1992 in Szombathely) is a Hungarian football player who currently plays for Videoton. He is a midfielder who began his career at Haladas, where he played very well during the first half of the 2011/2012 season. His impressive performances earned him a move to Hungarian giants Videoton in January 2012. So far he hasn't been able to fight himself into the starting 11 but if he keeps going no doubt he could be a star in the future.

Nickname

His nickname whilst at Haladas was 'Little Pelé', named for the Brazilian ace Pelé. The 'little' signifies him as a protégé of Pelé, rather than a comment on his size or stature. This nickname has followed him to Videoton FC. Kovács regularly studies recorded video footage of many famous footballers, especially Pelé.
