István Kühár (Slovene: Števan Kühar) (August 28, 1887 – January 1, 1922) was Slovene (Prekmurian) Roman Catholic priest, politician and writer in Hungary, and later in Yugoslavia.
He was born in Gradišče, near Tišina, as a son of József Kühár and Katalin Gombócz. His mother was daughter of petty nobleman. His brother János Kühar was also a writer and guardian of the Prekmurian language. Between 1917 and 1922, was the parson of Beltinci.
In policy Kühar was deputize the secession of the Hungarian Slovenes and his autonomy in Slovenia. Kühar, József Klekl, József Szakovics, József Csárics and Iván Bassa in 1918-1919 exert for the autonomy for the Prekmurje. After World War I, Kühar henceforward identify oneself with the Prekmurian language in Yugoslavia. Kühar was either of them editors of the Catholic newspaper Marijin list.
