Issiar Dia (born 8 June 1987) is a French-born Senegalese footballer who plays for Qatar Stars League side Lekhwiya SC.[1]
Career
Amiens SC
Stade Marcel Picot in the 2006 summer transfer window for €2 million under he management of Pablo Correa, signing from Ligue 2 side Amiens SC. forward player can play on either flank as well as up front.
AS Nancy
In the summer of 2006 changed the Senegalese for €2 million transfer to French club AS Nancy. On 10 September 2006 at the game against Toulouse FC celebrated the 19-year-old Issiar slide his debut in Ligue 1 by in the 68th Minute for substitute Moncef Zerka was. Later on 28 September 2006, the Senegalese his game-and-goal debut in the European Cup in a 3–1 victory in the return match against tournament favorites, FC Schalke 04 in the first round of the UEFA Cup, in addition he was involved in all three goals and thus reached them to the group stage to final sixteenth. Thus Issiar slide caused a surprise with his team in the UEFA competition. He played 115 league games for AS Nancy and scored 13 goals, including eight in his last season at the Lorraine. He quickly developed into an important first team player at AS Nancy and has made well over 100 official appearances for the French outfit. He played regularly for AS Nancy, but scored only six goals for them in his first three seasons. However the 2009–10 season was the start of a new beginning for him as he netted eight times in 33 outings.
Fenerbahçe
On 21 July 2010, Fenerbahçe announced that Dia had joined the team on a four-year contract for a sum of €6.5 million.[2] Dia ended a long scoring drought on 5 February 2011, with a goal against Manisaspor, as Fenerbahçe won 3–1 in the dying minutes of the game. After a two-year spell with the Turkish giant, he joined Qatari champions Lekhwiya SC.[3]
International career
He is often deployed on the right side of the attack and quickly earned a call up to the France U-21 squad, the country of his birth. Despite this, after his 21st birthday, Dia chose to pledge his future to the Senegalese. He was selected for the squad the first time possible, against Gambia, and came on as a substitute in the 61st minute for Frederic Mendy.
