Ismael 'East' Carlo (born January 29, 1942) is a Puerto Rican actor, sometimes credited as East Carlo, Ismael East Carlo or Ismael Carlo.
Life and career
Carlo was born in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, and raised in Spanish Harlem, New York. There he spent time trying to figure out what to do with his life. He was in the army after being enlisted at the age of 17. Was stationed in Panama. After the military he fathered his eldest son Ismael Manny Carlo. From New York he moved to Florida where he took a job as a Janitor at a local Theater and it was at that junction of his life did his acting career start. He started appearing in a couple of TV shows back in the seventies, like his role in Caribe (1975) in the lady killer episode, he played lately the role of Don Diego in the comedy movie Bandidas, 2006 He also appeared briefly in the series Prison Break, on episode 15 of the second season.
He has been married two times. He fathered two sons from previous relationships Ismael Manny Carlo III., and Eric Monteral. His second marriage to Millie Harper with whom he fathered a daughter, Tatyana-Marie Carlo.
East remains a familiar face amongst the Salsa scene and is recognized by his VJ appearances in many Southern California Puerto Rican day festivals.
