Island Aviation, Inc. (formerly A. Soriano Aviation, Inc.) operating as Island Aviation (IAI), is a charter airline operating in the Philippines with Air Carrier Operating Certificate order no. 135 issued by Air Transportation Office. The airline is the general aviation arm of A. Soriano Group of Companies, a management and investment company with interests in mining, agribusiness, insurance, banking and finance, manufacturing, resort development and port management.
History
IAI came into being on May 1, 2003, as a direct spin-off from the Aviation Department of A. Soriano Corporation (ANSCOR), for which it has been conducting corporate flying for many years. The company was reorganized to support the air transport needs of Amanpulo Resort. The airline was registered as a non-scheduled operator under the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines with an Air Operator Certificate number 2009-09 and holds a Certificate for Public Convenience and Necessity duly issued by the Civil Aeronautics Board of the Philippines.
