The Islamic Salafi Alliance (Arabic: التحالف الإسلامي السلفي) is a Sunni political party in Kuwait headed by Khaled AlـSultan Bin Essa. Of the fifty elected members of Kuwait National Assembly, only three seats belonged to the Islamic Salafi Alliance.
In the most recent election (may be before 2012), four Salafis were elected to the 50-member parliament and six other men who share their line of thought also gained seats. it means that ten member of parliament (20%) are from salafi ideology in kuwait parliament.[Reuters]
(2006 report) of Salafis coalition: including the majority of Salafis, following the HSS (Heritage Surviving Society) with which it refuses to link itself in media because, the Kuwaiti law restricts the public beneficiary societies from intervening in policy or election. Officially the Salafis coalition has two members in the current parliament: Ahmad Baqer, the resigned minister of Waqfs (Endowments), and Ahmad Aldu’aig, they were among 22 Salafi- backed candidates.[Ikwan]
2013 election is the latest election in kuwait.
