Islami Jamiat-e-Talibat
Islami Jamiat-e-Talbat (IJT) is the largest female students' organisation in Pakistan influenced mainly by the works of Abul A'la Maududi. It is an Islamic organization whose stated mission is to preach Islam to female students of modern institutions throughout Pakistan. It attempts to promote its vision of Islamic values and glorify the image of Islam through various means. It is an independent organization. Its main fields are the modern educational institutions i.e. colleges and universities across Pakistan, though many local sub-divisions are active at school level.
Goals
This organization was founded in September, 1969. It has been active in assisting female students in Pakistan. Its main purposes are to spread the message of Islam and to help members to become good students and citizens.
Its primary objectives are to promote Islamic culture and to pave the way for the integrity of Islam. Members are encouraged to display sympathy and empathy when counseling others.
IJT is a federation that seeks to show young women their real duty in this world, to teach them the essentials of Islam, and to train them to live up to Islamic ideals. The federation organizes different training activities for members according to their religion. Any female Muslim student in any Pakistani institution of learning is eligible for membership. The constitution of the federation is subject to amendment based on the Quran and sunnah.
