Iskra ("Spark") was an electronic equipment manufacturer in Yugoslavia, established on March 8, 1946 in Kranj, Slovenia.[1] Starting with 850 workers, it employed as many as 35,000 at its peak.[2] In the beginning of the 1970s, Iskra was the largest Slovenian company in the field of electromechanics, telecommunications, electronics and automation.[3]

Following the breakup of Yugoslavia, it is now a company in Slovenia. The company's operations in Slovenia were divided into many separate companies, including Iskratel, Iskra Avtoelektrika, Iskraemeco, Fotona, Iskra Amesi.

A new subsidiary in India
