Isabel Schnabel (née Gödde, born 9 August 1971) is a German economist. She has been a professor of financial economics at the University of Mainz since 2007,[1] and a member of the German Council of Economic Experts since 2014.[2]
Schnabel earned a diplom and a doctorate from the University of Mannheim in 1998 and 2003, respectively. Her dissertation, Macroeconomic Risks and Financial Crises – A Historical Perspective, was written under supervision of Martin Hellwig .[3]
