Isabel Andreu de Aguilar (née Isabel Andreu y Blanco; Fajardo, 15 November 1887 – 7 April 1948) was a Puerto Rican writer, educator, philanthropist,[1] suffragist and activist for the rights of women. Along with Mercedes Sola (1879-1923) and Ana Roque de Duprey (1853-1933), Andreu de Aguilar was a recognized feminist. In 1917, she participated in the founding of the Puerto Rican League of Women. She was a co-founder of the Association of Women Graduates of the University of Puerto Rico. She was also the second president of the Puerto Rican Association of Women Suffragists, which was formed in 1925.[2]
