Irvine Park (Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin)
Irvine Park is a city park located in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Founded in 1906 by William Irvine, it covers 318 acres (129 ha) including a zoo, started in 1909 as a bear pen,[1] and museum.[2]
Mr Irvine pronounced his name ER'vin and asked that there be no admission charge for the park and that his name be pronounced correctly. Most area residents, though, pronounce it ER'-vine.
