Irfan Makki is a Pakistani-born Canadian Muslim singer and songwriter.[1]
Career
Makki was born in Pakistan and immigrated with his family to Canada and started music at a young age developing a multicultural musical style with Muslim influences. In 1998, Makki recorded his first solo CD titled “Reminisce”. In 1999 he was featured in the CD compilation Light Upon Light. In 2006, he released his studio album Salam on Sound Vision with nine tracks of nasheeds followed by a tour in UK and USA. After signing with Awakening Records, he released the album I Believe, with 13 tracks. The title track "I Believe", featuring the Swedish-Lebanese musician Maher Zain, was released as a single accompanied by an official music video.[2]
A nasheed singer, Makki has toured Canada, United Kingdom and United States, and has appeared with Dawud Wharnsby, Zain Bhikha, 786, Native Deen and Maher Zain.
