Interstate 8 is the second EP by alternative rock band Modest Mouse, released on Up Records in 1996.[1] It contains the band's original demo, Live in Sunburst Montana, which was recorded in Isaac Brock's garage in Issaquah, Washington. This release is out-of-print, and is heavily sought after by collectors and fans.[2]

"Interstate 8," "Broke," "All Night Diner," and "Sleepwalking" were later included on the Building Nothing Out of Something rarities compilation released in 1999.[3]

The studio recordings of "Tundra/Desert", "Novocain Stain", and "Beach Side Property" are available on the band's debut album This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About.[4] On the 25th of March 2015, it was announced that the Album would be re-released on vinyl, CD and digital release by Glacial Pace. The re-release will occur on the 14th of April, 2015 (vinyl) and on April 21st (CD and digital).
