The International Sports Promotion Society (国際スポーツ振興協会 Kokusai Spōtsu Shinkō Kyoukai) (ISPS) is an organization established to promote the social contribution of sports, in particular sports targeted for people with disabilities. The founder, Haruhisa Handa, is known as “The Father of Blind Golf in Japan” who had introduced blind golf in Japan for the first time.[1] The ISPS has been active in its support and organization of senior golf tours and the fostering senior sports instructors.

Summit

ISPS co-sanctioned the World Sports Values Summit for Peace in Tokyo, which was held on July 18 and 19 of 2013. Top athletes and researchers joined together from 16 countries from all over the world, in order to have lively discussions under the main theme and topic “Sports can contribute to harmonize the development of humanity and to establish and encourage a peaceful society”.

At the World Sports Values Summit for Peace and Development which was held on May 22 and 23 of 2014 at United Nations Headquarters in New York, a partnership between ISPS and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) was announced.[2]
