The International Institute of Information Technology (Hindi: अंतरराष्ट्रीय सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान, पुणे; I2IT, pronounced "I Square IT"), is a higher education institute situated at Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, Hinjawadi, in Pune, Maharashtra, India.The institute is affiliated to University of Pune

History

The decision to set up I2IT was made in 1999 by P. P. Chhabria, industrialist and philanthropist and Vijay P. Bhatkar, scientist, and the first postgraduate (PG) course took place in 2001–2003. The Indira Gandhi National Open University center of excellence was set up in 2010.[1] IT started its UG course in 2011.

Academics

IIIT (I2IT)-Pune is one of the premier colleges in the country.I2IT offers PG programmes. The technical schools, School of Information Technology and School of Interdisciplinary Science offer Master of Technology (M.Tech.) and Master of Science (MS) with various specializations, as well as an integrated Ph.D program. The School of Biotechnology offers only MS courses. The School of Management offers Master of Business Administration (MBA) course as well as an Executive MBA.[2]

The college afterwards started an Undergraduate Engineering college affiliated to Pune University under the same name as the PG college. It offers Bachelor of Engineering degree in 3 streams: Electronics and Telecommunication, Computer Science and Information Technology.

College festivals

The college is host to an annual sports festival Askra and an annual Cultural festival Dhruva.

Hostels

There are 4 hostel buildings in the campus: 1.Takshashila(non-residential) 2.Mithila(Girls hostel) 3.Nalanda(Boys hostel) 4.Vikramshila(Co-ed hostel)
