The International Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM) is a not-for-profit professional organization with the stated mission to "...identify and promote the international standards and practices for defining and managing trading relationships. We develop and communicate leading practices that support economic growth and organizational success by ensuring commitments are ethical, achievable and sustainable."[4]

Overview

IACCM's membership is drawn from 157 countries, 12,800+ corporations, and many industries.[5] It is made up of contract managers, commercial managers, sales, negotiators, supply chain professionals, and attorneys. Hundreds of organizations have also established Corporate Memberships, gaining enhanced services that support their performance and understanding of market trends. As of November 2014, it has a membership of over 31,800.[5]

Besides being the only international body for commitment management, IACCM offers training and certification service. Additionally, the organization conducts research and benchmarking to identify trends in contract and commercial management. Original research in areas including contracts, legal and sourcing can be commissioned.[6]

IACCM publishes a monthly digital magazine called "Contracting Excellence" [7] as well as a blog covering current issues of interest in the global contracting and commercial management.[8]

IACCM was founded in 1999 with support from British Telecom, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Lucent Technologies, Marconi Communications, and Siemens.

Certifications

IACCM offers certifications in various levels namely, Associate, Practitioner, Expert & Fellow[9]

IACCM has four different on-line learning programs [10] namely,

Recently it has come out with a book, a unique of its own, CONTRACT AND COMMERCIAL MANAGEMENT - The Operational Guide which deals with all four phases of Contract Management [15]

The IACCM has also recently introduced the Contract Design Award Progam, which aims to promote the production of clear, easy-to-use contracts.[16]

Contract & Commercial Management Program

The acclaimed IACCM online Contract & Commercial Management Program explains best practices in Commercial Contracting and Contract Management. There are two curricula; a sell-side or buy-side, covering the full end to end contract lifecycle. The program includes:

IACCM Supplier Relationship Management Program

This program provides skills and knowledge needed for implementation of SRM practices within organizations. Completion of the program leads to individual certification and a 'license to practise SRM'.

Oil & Gas Contracting In Practice

Contracting and contract management professionals face, in the Oil and Gas sector, unique challenges and opportunities – such as the ripple effects of Macondo, knock-for-knock indemnity, local content requirements, and dealing with NOC’s.

IACCM has developed this program, which enables to address those Oil and Gas specific issues and many others.

The Oil and Gas Contracting in Practice program covers those issues through a series of three-dozen brief, on-line learning modules. Complete with tools, templates, articles and case studies, the program is designed to cover the basics and, through on-line message boards, enable interaction between practitioners who face similar situations.

Fundamentals of Contract & Commercial Management

IACCM’s Fundamentals or “Contracting Lite” program is designed specifically for the non-contracts, general business professional. The Fundamentals Program focuses on delivering contemporary best practice information.
