International American University College of Medicine (IAU) is a private medical school located in Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia in the Caribbean. IAU confers upon its graduates the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.[1]

Curriculum

The MD program at IAU is a 10 semester course of study that consists of three semesters per calendar year. Semesters 1-4 are basic sciences semesters that are completed at the university's Saint Lucia campus. Semester 5 is an introduction to clinical medicine & USMLE review completed in Chicago, Illinois.[2] Semesters 6-10 consist of 76 weeks of clinical study that are completed at IAU-affiliated hospitals in the United States.[3]

High school graduates earn guaranteed acceptance to the IAU MD program after completion of a 90 credit hour pre-medical program at Texas A&M University–Commerce with a minimum GPA of 3.2.[4]

International American University College of Medicine is chartered and licensed in Saint Lucia.[5] The university is listed in the FAIMER International Medical Education Directory (IMED)[1] and in the AVICENNA Directory for medicine.[6]
