International Academy of Management and Economics or I/AME (pronounced "I aim") is a private, non-sectarian, degree-granting business school in Makati City, Philippines.[1]

History

In 1979, I/AME's precursor was established under the name International University Foundation. It was founded by lawyer and educator Dr. Emmanuel T. Santos.

In 1985, I/AME was accredited as a local institution by the Commission on Higher Education of the Philippines.[1]

On March 21, 2003, I/AME became the first Makati City-based business school to fulfill the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 for establishing a Quality Management System for the Provision of Higher Education in Management, specifically for the design, delivery, and testing of business courses, and overall facilities management.[2]

The first batch of graduates held ceremonies in Hotel Miramar in Hong Kong in 1982.[3]

Academic offerings

I/AME provides undergraduate and graduate degree programs in management. All graduate degree programs are held on Saturdays and can be completed in one to three years (academic requisites except publication). Most graduate students are working in business firms, colleges, and government agencies.[3]

Faculty and management

I/AME is owned and managed by its founder, chairman and chief executive officer, Dr. Emmanuel T. Santos.

Lecturers include corporate practitioners and academics who earned degrees from such schools as Asian Institute of Management, University of the Philippines, Adamson University, University of Santo Tomas, De La Salle-Professional Schools, Inc., Ateneo Graduate School of Business, Far Eastern University, University of Asia and the Pacific, Wharton School, Cornell University, Brigham Young University, Australian National University, Williams College, University of Tokyo, Harvard University, New York University, Seattle University, University of Georgia, Leicester University, and Oxford University.[4]

Facilities

I/AME is located in Metro Manila's financial district with a business library, an IT resource center, a publishing house, an auditorium, a gym, executive conference suites, and a restaurant.[5] The school lies in the central business district of Makati City.[6]
