Institute for Women's Leadership

The Institute for Women's Leadership, created by the eminent former dean of Douglass College, Mary S. Hartman,[1] is a "consortium of teaching, research, and public service units" operating in close association with Rutgers University, and more specifically, the Douglass Campus. The Institute is composed of nine consortium members: Douglass Residential College, the Department of Women's and Gender Studies, the Center for American Women and Politics, the Institute for Research on Women, the Institute for Women & Art, the Center for Women's Global Leadership, and the Center for Women and Work.[2] The Institute for Women's Leadership focuses on women's leadership issues on local, national, and international scales. As a complementary function to its research and activist goals, the Institute provides a rich networking environment and supports the career development of its members.[3]
