Institute for Research on Public Policy

The Institute for Research on Public Policy (IRPP) is Canada's oldest non-partisan public policy think tank. Based in Montreal and founded in 1972, it publishes Policy Options, edited by L. Ian MacDonald.

The Institute is a registered charity in Canada and stated in its latest annual information return to the Canada Revenue Agency of having assets of roughly $35.6 million CAD and annual expenditures of $2.5 million in the 2009-2010 fiscal year.

Graham Fox became President and CEO on April 1, 2011, succeeding Mel Cappe. Hugh Segal served as President from 1999 to 2006, and Monique Jérôme-Forget from 1991 to 1998.

Governance

The organization is governed by a board of directors.
