Inna is a Russian name supposedly meaning "strong water".[1] It was the name of an early male Russian martyr, but is currently used as a feminine name only.[2] Inna was the fourth most popular name given to baby girls born in Moscow, Russia in 2007.[3] In ancient Greece the name Ἴννα (Inna) is also attested[4] (probably from ἴννην innen, meaning "little girl"[5]), however a connection with the Russian Inna has not been confirmed. In other Russian sources Inna means fountain, lively and full of life.
