Infected Malignity is a Japanese metal band. Formed in 2004, they have released two albums, both of which have had international releases and attention.

History

The band was formed in September 2004 with Katsuyuki on vocals, Takuma on guitars, and Yuuto on drums - all of whom were members of Defiant Manner. A month later, their final member, Keiichi joined the band on bass. After three months they released a three-track demo.

In February 2005, Keiichi left the band. This did not bring the band down as they recorded a nine-track album in August 2005. The album was entitled The Malignity Born From Despair. The album was released on Unmatched Brutality Records in the U.S. in March 2006. In May 2006, the band toured throughout Europe with bands Insidious Decrepancy and Godless Truth. During this time, the band began writing songs for their next release. The band finished writing six songs for their next album near the end of the year. They decided the release would be an EP. The band finished recording the EP in March 2007. The EP was titled RE:BEL and was released on Canadian label Galy Records and British label Anticulture Records in end of 2007. Near the end of the recording of the EP, Katsuyuki left the band; however they soon found new members Kohei Watanabe and Kei Ishida from Vomit Remnants. On April 29, 2008, Katsuyuki rejoined the band as the main vocalist, replaced Watanabe, and confirmed that they would be working on material for a new album.
