Indrajith is an upcoming Tamil action fantasy- adventure film directed by Kalaprabhu and produced by his father Kalaipuli S. Thanu. The film features Gautham Karthik and Ashrita Shetty Sonarika Bhadoria in the lead roles, while Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy compose the film's music. The film is currently in production.

Production

The collaboration between actor and director was first reported in October 2013, with Kalaprabhu revealing that his second venture after Sakkarakatti (2008), was an action adventure film produced by his father.^[1] A first look poster for the film was revealed in January 2014, stating that production was in progress. The team announced that schedules were set to take place in Chennai, Arunachal Pradesh and then Goa, while also revealing that the title was reference to the character Indrajit from the Indian epic Ramayana.^[2] It was later revealed that the film would be along the lines of the Indiana Jones films, with Gautham Karthik and Sonarika featuring in a group of fortune seekers, also including Sudanshu Pandey and Amit.^[3] While Ankur singh plays a maoist leader who is protecting his Jungle and the fortune which belongs to the people of his land.

Plagiarism allegations

Indrajith‍ '​s first two teaser posters created a stir, due to their respective resemblances to the video games Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.^[4]

Release

The satellite rights of the film were sold to Jaya TV.
