Indira Cesarine is a multimedia artist, photographer, director, and the editor-in-chief of The Untitled Magazine.[1]
Biography
A graduate of Choate Rosemary Hall and Columbia University, Cesarine began her career in photography in the 1990s, having worked as an international photographer for fashion and lifestyle publications including British Vogue,[2][3] GQ, British Esquire, InStyle, Sunday Times Style, French Glamour, Elle, Marie Claire, L'Officiel and Ocean Drive.[4] She has photographed for numerous companies including Charles Jourdan, Cerruti, Kenzo, and Dior. She has directed fashion films, narrative and documentary short films, and video art productions.[5] As a multimedia artist she works with photography, video, painting, printmaking and sculpture. Her work has been exhibited internationally at galleries,[6] museums [7] and festivals [8] including the Metropolitan Museum of Art.[7][9] In 2014 she created a sculpture, "The Egg of Light" exhibited at Rockefeller Center for The Big Egg Hunt New York.[10]
Her work as a magazine editor includes previous positions as fashion editor at large of Lush Magazine [11][12] from 2006 to 2009, and editor at large of the now defunct British magazine Don’t Tell It.[13] In 2009 she launched the online multimedia publication XXXX Magazine, The Untitled Magazine[13] and subsequently the print publication The Untitled Magazine in 2011.
In August 2009, she was featured on the cover and interviewed for the Professional Photographer Magazine (UK).[14][15] In December 2012, the American publication Digital Photography Pro profiled Cesarine in Master of The Untitled, citing her as "one of the most talented fashion and beauty photographers working today."[1] She was featured with a chapter in the book Signed, Your Student: Celebrities Praise The Teachers Who Made Them Who They Are Today, by Holly Holbert and Bruce Holbert.[16]
Cesarine and her work have been featured internationally on TV shows such as E! TV, Inside Edition, HBO’s Special “Ford Supermodel of the World”, MTV, High Society, The Ricki Lake Show, "Make Me a Supermodel" UK and "Make Me a Supermodel" US (season 2) editions.[1][17]
The Untitled Magazine
Indira Cesarine is the editor-in-chief and publisher of The Untitled Magazine,[18] distributed by Pineapple Media,[19] to 30 countries including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Europe, China, Australia, and Japan. It is published bi-annually and available in print, online and as a digital app,[20] the magazine features entertainment, fashion and cultural content, including articles, photography shoots, interviews, as well as videos.[1]
Art Gallery / Photography Studio
The Untitled Space,[21] also known as Studio Cesarine, is an art gallery & photography studio located in Tribeca New York. It was designed by Cesarine and architect Nina Edwards Anker in 2003,[22] and is located in a landmark cast-iron building on Lispenard Street.[23] Founded by Indira Cesarine, The Untitled Space features exhibits of contemporary art[24] and photography[25] independently and in collaboration with other galleries[26] and curators.
