Indian Idol Junior is an Indian reality television singing competition. It began broadcasting on Sony Entertainment Television Asia from June 1, 2013.[1]

Karan Wahi and Mandira Bedi were hosts of the show which was judged by music duo Vishal-Shekhar and with playback singer Shreya Ghoshal.[2]

Sugandha was originally eliminated from the 3rd theatre round but was re-added as a wild card entry.

Episode descriptions

In the first episode, the guest judge was Vidya Balan. The juniors performed with noted playback singers. Debanjana performed with Arijit Singh, Anjana with Papon, Akash with Shilpa Rao, Sonakshi with Harshdeep Kaur, Priyam with Benny Dayal, Eman with Dominique Cerejo, Nirvesh with Shruti Pathak, Anmol with Rahul Vaidya, Sugandha with Soham Chakraborty. Anjana was the performer of the day, and won a fixed deposit of 1 lakh rupees.

This episode had Bhaag Milkha Bhaag's lead actor Farhan Akhtar & director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra as guests.[5] Anmol won the Performer of the Day title.

Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh from film Lootera came to promote their upcoming movie Lootera. Akash was the Performer of the Day.

The fourth episode was the first episode to have an elimination. While judge Shreya Ghoshal was not present, Kavita Krishnamurthy sat in. Aryan was eliminated.

Govinda was a substitute judge for Shreya Ghoshal.[6] [7]

This episode had Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy as guests. Shreya Ghoshal also returned after missing 2 episodes. no elimination.

This episode had actors Tusshar Kapoor & Ravi Kishan as guests. Priyam & Sonakshi were declared safe while Eman was eliminated.

This is episode featured Bappi Lahiri as a guest.[8] Sankalp was eliminated.

Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone featured as special guests to promote their upcoming film "Chennai Express".[9]

Salim-Sulaiman featured as special guests. Debanjana Karmakar was declared the "Performer of the Day". Akash was eliminated..

Actors Imran Khan and Sonakshi Sinha were feature as special guests to promote their upcoming film Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara!.

Priyam was eliminated.

The Juniors performed in front of "Sukhwinder singh".

Debanjana was the performer of the day. Sonakshi was eliminated.

The juniors performed in front of Anu Malik.

Sughanda was eliminated. Sushant Singh Rajput and Parineeti Chopra came for the promotion of their new film Shudh Desi Romance.

This episode starred music director Lakshmikant Pyaralal as celebrity judge.

Grand Finale

The top 11 contestants were invited back to perform for the grand finale. Shahid Kapoor, Ram Charan and Priyanka Chopra were also present. Amitabh Bachan gave away the first Indian Idol Junior trophy to Anjana Padmanaban.[10][11][12]
