India is scheduled to compete at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016.
Athletics

Indian athletes have so far achieved qualifying standards in the following athletics events (up to a maximum of 3 athletes in each event):[1][2]
- Men's 20 km walk – 3 quota places
- Women's 20 km walk – 1 quota place (Khushbir Kaur)[3]
Field hockey

Men's tournament
India men's field hockey team qualified for the Olympics by receiving a berth and earning the gold medal from the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon.[4]

Shooting

Indian shooters have achieved the following quotas based on their performance at the 2014 ISSF World Shooting Championships and the Olympics qualification tournaments.[5]
- Men's 50 m air pistol – 1 quota place (Jitu Rai)
- Women's 10 m air rifle – 1 quota place (Apurvi Chandela).[6]
