IndiMusic TV
IndiMusic TV is a half-hour music video program which runs on WLNY channel 10/55 in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut twice a year in the spring and fall in thirteen-episode seasons. The show airs independent music videos only and consists of early MTV-style VJ segments, introducing the videos while the viewing audience gets a chance to log on to the website and vote for their favorite videos each week. At the end of each season, there are four finalists which compete for the "IndiMusic TV Top Artist Of The Season" award which is announced on the final episode of each season. The show also airs music news, segments from around the world on cutting-edge artists and bands from various cities and advice on the independent music business. IndiMusic TV was the first show if its kind to air on commercial television in the NY metropolitan area and has blazed the path for many offshoot independent music video shows nationwide since its airing in 2008. The brainchild of musician-entrepreneur Chris Pati, IndiMusic TV was first created as a website on www.livevideo.com in 2006 to broadcast independent artists' music videos that had no traditional outlet for broadcast. The show began airing on WLNY TV 10/55 in September 2008 and garnered impressive Nielsen ratings, enough to garner press in TVWeek Magazine.
