"In Your Eyes" is a song recorded by Romanian dance/pop singer Inna. Written and produced by Steve Mac and co-written by Ina Wroldsen the track was released as the third international single and seventh overall single taken from her third studio album Party Never Ends. The single version of the song, which was sent to worldwide mainstream radios in September 2013, features guest vocals of Puerto Rican rapper Yandel. Its accompanying music video premiered on YouTube on October 16, 2013.
Background
"In Your Eyes" is the opening track of Inna's third studio album Party Never Ends which was released on digital retailers on March 25, 2013. The song was written by British songwriter and producer Steve Mac who previously wrote and produced for Ronan Keating, Leona Lewis, Kelly Clarkson, Westlife and Kate Winslet. It was co-written with Norwegian songwriter Ina Wroldsen, who wrote songs for music acts like Britney Spears, The Pussycat Dolls, The Wanted, The Saturdays and James Arthur. During an interview in early-August 2013 for Ruta Latina in Barcelona, Spain Inna confirmed that "In Your Eyes" will be the next international single after "More Than Friends" and "Be My Lover" without mentioning that a guest artist will be part of her next release.[1] With the premiere of the music video in October 2013 it was confirmed that Yandel, who was formerly known as member of the duo Wisin & Yandel, contributed guest raps for the single version.
Music video
Directed by film director, writer, graphic designer and photographer Barna Némethi, the music video for "In Your Eyes" was filmed in late-August 2013. A first teaser was uploaded to Inna's YouTube channel on October 2,[2] a second one on October 11, 2013.[3] The full music was premiered on October 16, 2013 (Inna's 27th birthday) and surprisingly featured guest vocals of Puerto Rican reggaeton rapper Yandel.[4]
Chart performance
"In Your Eyes" debuted on the Romanian Top 100 on November 3, 2013 at number seventy-eight and performed moderately on the chart, peaking at number forty-four on December 8, 2013.[5] While it failed to chart in most European countries, it anyway became a hit in Spain. It debuted at number eighty-four on the Spanish Singles Chart on March 2, 2014 and reached its peak position at number thirty-one on April 21, 2014.[6]
