Founded in 1999, IBTL has performed for various events at the University of Rochester[1] and in the surrounding Rochester community.[2] IBTL has worked with local professional groups including Geva Comedy Improv and attended improv conferences at Oberlin College and Skidmore College. In Between The Lines has worked with a number of groups on campus including the Midnight Ramblers.[3] IBTL holds open rehearsals and workshops weekly for the campus and Rochester community.

History

Early in 1999 Dave Howland and Jamie Delman decided to form the University of Rochester's first and only comedy improv troupe. In the Spring of 2000, the troupe began to grow, adding members and putting on the first shows on campus. As the troupe grew in size, they adopted the name "In Between the Lines". In the Fall of 2000, the troupe was formally organized into a performance group. In the Fall of 2002, the University of Rochester's theater began formally supporting In Between the Lines.
