The Identitäre Bewegung Österreichs (Identitarian movement Austria - IBÖ) is an Austrian new-right[1] organisation. Inspired by the French Generation Identitaire, it belongs to the pan-European Identitarian movement. Spokesman of the IBÖ is Alexander Markovics.

Ideology

Philosophically, the IBÖ promotes ideas coming from the New Right thinkers (e.g. Aleksandr Dugin, Dominique Venner or Alain de Benoist) and the German Conservative Revolutionary movement (Konservative Revolution) like Oswald Spengler or Carl Schmitt. The IBÖ says it stands against liberalism (Nazism, fascism, communism and socialism are considered a form of liberalism according to Dugin's work The forth political theory), internationalism, multiculturalism, and Islam. The IBÖ criticices the immigration politics of the Social Democratic Party and the Green Party. Instead of the EU, they propagate for a so-called "alliance of independent countries".
