Idalou Independent School District

Idalou Independent School District is a public school district based in Idalou, Texas (United States) that serves students in northeastern Lubbock County.

Idalou ISD has three schools, all of which share a single campus – Idalou High (Grades 9-12), Idalou Middle (Grades 5-8), and Idalou Elementary (Grades PK-4).

The mascot of all three schools is the Wildcat. Many students at the Idalou High school are very successful, being the first school in AA history to win a football and basketball state championship in the same year. Other state qualifying sports include: Boys Tennis, Baseball, Boys and Girls Track, Boys Cross Country and Boys and Girls Golf. Idalou is also very successful academically. For the past 4 years in the UIL competition, Idalou took home the gold at the district meet scoring 600+ points over all, with the nearest competitor at barely 200 points. For the past few years Idalou has also sent many students to the UIL state meet to compete against schools form all across the state. Idalou also has great fine arts programs. Starting with the VASE art competition, the art department sends multiple people to the state level every year. The band is also a huge part at Idalou high school. They send multiple people to the state UIL solo and ensemble competition in the spring semester. The Idalou agricultural education program is another very successful aspect of Idalou high school. Through the FFA around 200 members compete in Leadership and Career development event contests through the year, sending multiple students to once again the state level. The agriculture program also hosts a large local stock show in the early spring semester producing many successful SAE projects. Although all of these accomplishments would not be possible with out the outstanding academic programs. On all three campuses, the math, English, science and elective classes are what drive the faculty and the students on each campus.
