In 1985, Elton John set out to promote his latest album, Ice on Fire, with his band. The Ice on Fire Tour started in the fall of 1985[1] and continued until October 1986,[2] before Elton performed his Tour De Force with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
The UK performances were staged in rather small and intimate venues including the Manchester Apollo[3] and Edinburgh Playhouse. The tour lasted for eighty-six shows and covered eleven countries.
