The mining company has less than two months to strike it rich. Winter is coming, the clock is ticking, and the race is on.

Prospecting in Greenland is only getting harder by the day. Every one is already missing the comforts of home and growing pains are settling in as tensions flare between the members of Sixty Degree Resources over their differences. 44"Hitting the Wall"May 12, 2013
It’s been a month and Greenland is taking a toll on the men both physically and mentally. They had to revamp their game plan after discovering that Storø's geology is home to more rubies and sapphires than gold. As they began executing their new prospecting plan, Greenland reminds them who reigns supreme as a deafening avalanche stockpiled with rocks falls from a ridge high above base camp, creating plumes of dust in the air.
55"Discord, Deer, and Discovery"May 19, 2013
After being battered by a massive storm, the miners must band together to fix the damage to their camp. With renewed confidence after another finding, the miners set a new target and realize that their last chance to find gems depends on their ability to get to Fiskenaesset. But with limited funds, factions are forming and the lobbying has commenced as Americo gets voted into the fourth and final seat on the helicopter.

'Ice Cold Gold' spotlights a spirited team of miners who are among the first Americans to prospect for precious metals and gems in parts of Greenland where humans never have set foot before. The miners’ mission is to strike it rich during the impossibly tight window before the arctic winter and large mining companies swoop in.
81"Ruby Fever"March 6, 2014
All winter long, the miners dreamt of the rubies they discovered atop that almost impossible-‐to-‐reach ridge just as winter's window closed tightly on their new claim. Now, they are ready to claim their prize, but the risks are so much more than they bargained for. As they drop back down into the capital city of Nuuk, the team quickly discovers the rules have changed once again. Industry, mining companies and claim jumpers have also descended on the island. The miners must get everything together quickly in order to make it back to the rubies before anyone else does. But with time and the elements against them, is it already too late?
92"The Belly of the Red Beast"March 13, 2014
The American miners have their sights set on what team Geologist Eric Drummond believes could be the largest ruby deposit in the Arctic. But Greenland's wild frontier soon plays havoc as the team struggles to return to its prized claim from last year. Upon setting up their base camp, the miners’ plan of attack quickly unravels as intense fog, insects and unforgiving terrain battle their efforts to get back to the precious gems. When the stress reaches a boiling point, old tempers flare up again, and one miner's outburst puts the whole operation in jeopardy. The seven men must learn to work together quickly or risk losing all they worked for in the off season. Are the miners able to come together and meet Greenland's relentless challenges, or do they fall apart before even setting foot on the ruby deposit?
103"In the Red"March 20, 2014
The miners embark for the Red Zone and dive into the rich ruby deposit they discovered last year, but the mercurial weather, brutal terrain and extreme isolation oppose the miners’ every move. Even in base camp, the dredge operation starts off with unbridled optimism but soon disintegrates into a mess of poor planning and renewed fear that the potential reward never could make up for the enormous risk of this pricey endeavor. Getting back to the Red Zone after a year of anticipation is both triumphant and daunting. Punchdrunk with the first signs of ruby fever, the miners quickly get hit with a harsh reality: Greenland throws a wrench into their plans, and the beast from within starts to rear its ugly head.
114"Rubies Revealed"March 27, 2014
The miners are battling Greenland from two fronts with half the team finding huge rubies at the Red Zone and the other half dredging for gems in the river below. The Red Zone crew carves ruby-‐rich rock from its virgin claim and one of the largest deposits in the world, but Americo has an underperforming drill that might be a complete waste. Down at base camp, fuel for the dredge is dwindling, leaving Chad one last chance to find rubies in the river and show that his budget-‐draining behemoth was worth the cost and effort. Later, the Red Zone team has an encounter with a mischievous Arctic fox and quickly learns that even small predators can cause a lot of damage, while the base camp team sees an approaching boat as a threat to its very existence. Can the miners persevere through competition and diminished resources before their entire operation is sunk?
125"The Rise and Fall of the Ruby Empire"April 3, 2014
While Josh, Chad and John are down at base camp prepping the dredge to move to the upper lake, Eric and the Red Zone team are pulling out rubies by the scores, but it’s a hard-‐won success. With food supplies almost nonexistent and weather turning from bad to worse on a dime, the team is mustering all its strength to make this venture a success. John desperately wants to see the rubies on his 50th birthday, so he makes a foolhardy hike to the Red Zone with more than 50 pounds of reindeer meat on his back. It's a dangerous trek never before done by any human, and with the wrong intentions, he puts the team at severe risk with his choice to redeem himself. Meanwhile, Eric gets a bad case of ruby fever and successfully ventures farther and deeper into the Red Zone. The miners find a deposit a hundred times better than their first and confirm they could be sitting at the epicenter of the largest ruby band in the world. They find one particular ruby worth $200,000, but with ruby fever in full swing, the team members begin to mistrust themselves and each other. Eric tries to take control but ends up breaking the ruby that could have paid for the whole season. The group’s low morale is saved when John arrives with reindeer meat, but time and weather are forcing them to leave the Red Zone in two days. In the mad rush to take care of business, the team begins to unravel again, and adding John into the mix only stirs the pot worse.
136"The Gold Rush"April 10, 2014
Forced to leave their precious ruby deposit before Greenland devours them, the miners of Sixty Degree Resources execute phase two of their operation during the few weeks they have left. Without knowing if the rubies from the Red Zone are enough to warrant success, Eric assembles a team to venture 450 miles north – above the Arctic Circle near the most destructive glacier in Greenland, called Eqi. He has no choice but to force the team into Greenland’s treacherous unknown to search for gold and keep the company alive. But before Eric can leave, some members of the team turn rogue, possibly threatening create mutiny to the whole operation. Can the miners regain one another’s trust before their mission is finished, or has ruby fever caused the miners to turn on each other permanently?
147"Point of No Return"April 17, 2014
The miners are almost at season's end. With winter closing in and time running out, Josh and Eric arrive in Eqi, north of the Arctic Circle, for one last shot at gold, while the rest of the team focuses on dredging for rubies the Upper Lake area with Chad. Chad faces scorn once the team discovers that Chad and Josh dropped the dredge in an area that's not even on their claim. And, the miners are unhappy when they're forced to move the quarter-‐ton machine half a mile before they can begin their search for rubies. Eric's research has him convinced that there are riches in Eqi, and he and Josh must venture into the unknown to seek a new deposit during terrible, trapping weather. Is the dredge worth the investment, and does Chad's reputation hit rock bottom? Can Josh and Eric uncover a mountain of gold before Greenland sends them packing? The pressure is on for the miners as time and patience runs out.
158"Beast Within"April 24, 2014
It’s the miners’ last week, and Greenland not only has gotten into their heads but is exposing their inner demons. Two miners face the possibility of being stranded above the Arctic Circle on the ice sheet for the winter, while 450 miles away, landslides and an unstable glacier threaten to cut the other miners’ lives short. The miners face the beginning of the end of Sixty Degree Resources; one of their last miners meetings becomes chaotic with flying curse words and accountability being questioned. Tempers flare as it becomes clear that no one is safe from scrutiny. After two seasons of battling Greenland’s raw elements, the ‘Beast’ (Greenland) changes tactics and threatens to destroy each miner’s inner core. Do they succumb to the beast within?
