Hyperprism (Varèse)
Hyperprism is a work for wind, brass, and percussion instruments by Edgard Varèse, composed in 1922 and revised in 1923.
Instrumentation
The piece is score for flute (doubling piccolo), Clarinet in E-flat, 3 Horns, 2 Trumpets in C, Tenor and Bass Trombones, and percussion. The percussion parts call for Snare drum, Indian drum, Bass drum, Tambourine, Crash Cymbal, 2 Cymbals, Tam-tam, Triangle, Anvil, Slapstick, 2 Chinese blocks (high and low), Lion Roar, Rattle, Big Rattle, Sleigh Bells, and Siren.
