Sir Hugh Gurney KCMG MVO (4 February 1878 - 7 March 1968) was a British diplomat.
Gurney was the son of John Gurney (1845–1887) and Isabel Blake-Humfrey. He served as Ambassador to Denmark between 1933 and 1935[1] and as Ambassador to Brazil from 1935 to 1939. He was invested as a Member of the Royal Victorian Order[2] and as a Knight Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George in 1935.[3] Gurney served as the Chief Secretary of the British Palestine government in 1947. He married Mariota Susan Carnegie, daughter of Sir Lancelot Douglas Carnegie and Marion Alice de Gourney Barclay, on 3 July 1911.[4] Together they had two children.
