Hudson High School is a public secondary school serving grades 9 through 12 in Hudson, St. Croix County, Wisconsin, United States. Hudson High School is located on the St. Croix River on the border of Wisconsin and Minnesota. As of 2013, enrollment was 1,704.[4]

Curriculum

The Hudson High School offers both common core classes (English, social studies, science, math, music, and physical education) and electives (business, agriculture, computer science, art, family consumer). Many AP classes are also offered.

In 2014, Hudson High School began their STEM+ and healthcare academy programs, "a research-based instructional model that integrates a rigorous academic curriculum with career content that is aligned with current workforce needs and trends." [5]

Athletics

Hudson High School offers football, baseball, softball, track, golf, tennis, soccer, basketball, gymnastics, swimming and diving, hockey, wrestling, floor hockey, volleyball, cheerleading, danceline, "trap" clay target shooting, marching band, and cross country. Students may also participate in intramural sports.

Organizations

Student organizations include: math and drama club, quiz bowl, the spring and fall plays, bands, students against destructive decisions, and others.

Notable alumni

  • Jim Bertelsen - Running back for the Texas Longhorns (1969–71). Drafted in the 2nd round of the NFL draft by the L.A. Rams where he played from 1972-76. Played in 1 NFL Pro Bowl game.[6]
  • Andy Bohmbach - Forward for the Wisconsin Badger Hockey Team[7]
  • Davis Drewiske - Defensemen for the Wisconsin Badger Hockey Team and the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL.[8]
  • Arthur D. Kelly - Wisconsin State Assemblyman[9]
  • Kraig Urbik - Starting RG for the Wisconsin Badger Football Team. Drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers, now plays for the Buffalo Bills[10]
  • Dale Weiler- Midfielder for the Minnesota Thunder Soccer Team
