Huaqiangbei

Huaqiangbei (Chinese: 华强北; pinyin: Huáqiángběi; literally: "Huaqiang North") is an area in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, southern China.[1] It runs from Shennan Boulevard at SEG Plaza near Huaqianglu Station on the Shenzhen Metro for 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) north to the Pavilion Hotel. It is at the spine of a concentrated shopping and restaurant area, with cross streets Zhen Zhong Lu, Zhen Hua Lu and Zhen Xing Lu. Hua Fa Lu is immediately parallel to the east with Yan Nan Lu further away.

Locale

The area is characterized by tree-lined streets with wide (5 to 20 metres (16 to 66 ft)) footpaths. Huaqiangbei's streets are lined by electronics shops, clothing shops, hotels and restaurants representing all the provincial cuisines of China.

There are three metro stations in the area: Huaqiang Road Station on the Luobao Line, Huaqiang North Station on the Shekou Line and Huaxin Station on the Longgang Line.

Construction is on-going for the fourth metro line with several new buildings pending completion.
