The Howrah-New Delhi Duronto Express or Kolkata Duronto is an important train which operates between Kolkata and the national capital New Delhi.
Overview
This train uses the Grand Chord route. It belongs to the Eastern Zone of Indian Railways. This train runs non-stop between the two cities. There is no unreserved seating available in this train, as it has no stopagges, but few technical halts for carrying food and change of loco pilot staff. As inaugurated by Mamta Banerjee, it is one of the fastest trains on this route after Delhi Duronto ,Sealdah Rajdhani & Howrah Rajdhani followed by , Poorva Express & other trains on the same route. This train is the most time-efficient train on the route. This train is fully accommodated with the latest Hybrid-LHB Coaches. The coaches have a garden-green livery with colourful patches. Tatkal facility is available in this train. The train is usually hauled by a Howrah Shed WAP-4 locomotive in its entire route. As this train does not have any commercial halts ,passengers are supplied with complimentary meals . Lunch, Evening snacks and tea ,Soup and dinner and Morning tea is served in a journey. Also a bottle of Rail Neer is supplied. If the train is behind schedule meals are supplied free of costs which may differ from original menu
