The 2015 Houston mayoral election will take place on November 3, 2015, to elect the Mayor of Houston, Texas.
The election is officially nonpartisan and if no candidate wins a majority of the vote, a runoff will be held on December 12 between the top two finishers.
Mayoral elections in Houston are biennial, with the winner being sworn-in in the following January for a two-year term.
Incumbent Mayor Annise Parker, a member of the Democratic Party who has been in office since 2010, is term-limited and cannot run for re-election to a fourth term in office.[1]
