The House at 115-117 Jewett Street in Newton, Massachusetts, is one of the city's finest examples of the academic style of Second Empire design. The 2 1/2 story wood frame house was built in the 1860s, and features a project entry portico, a distinctive feature of the academic variant. In addition to other well-preserved period details, the property also includes a mansard-roofed carriage house with cupola.[2]
The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.[1]
