House Mountain (Rockbridge County, Virginia)
Located in Rockbridge County, Virginia, House Mountain consists of two peaks. One called Little House Mountain and the other Big House Mountain. A popular hiking trail for the people of Lexington, Virginia, and the surrounding counties. Legend has it that a Native American husband-to-be jumped off the side of Big House Mountain after his fiancée slipped off the edge.
Big House Mountain has a height of 3,645 feet (1,111 meters).[1]
