Hotel Helvetia & Bristol is a five-star boutique hotel in Florence, Italy. The hotel is managed by the Niquesa Hotels & Residences Group alongside: Hotel d'Inghilterra, Residenza di Ripetta, Hotel Beverly Hills Rome, Grand Hotel Continental Siena and Hotel Villa Michelangelo Vicenza, and is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World.

Location

The hotel is is set in heart of Historic Centre of Florence, named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982. It lies between Piazza della Repubblica, Florence and Via de' Tornabuoni. The entrance is located on Via dei Pescioni and the main façade overlooks Piazza Strozzi. Ponte Vecchio, Florence Cathedral[1] and Piazza della Signoria are located within walking distance.

History

The palazzo that houses the hotel dates to the late 19th century.[2] Originally created to attract the wealthy aristocrats of Victorian England, the inner-city townhouse hosted artists and European royalty including: Igor Stravinsky, Giorgio de Chirico, members of Danish Royal Family and Monarchy of the Netherlands.[3]

Bar & Restaurant

The hotel houses Bar Bibendum & Hostaria Bibendum.[4] The restaurant is led by Roberto Cordisco who prior to becoming a Head Chef gained experience at 2 and 3 Michelin restaurants in Florence & Milan[5]
