Hot Mess Loves You (formerly known as "Hot Mess") is an American indie rock band based in Nashville, Tennessee. The band was formed in 2009. In 2013 they released their EP, Waiting to Burn, produced by two-time Grammy Award winner, Chad Carlson.

History

Early work (2009–2011)

Hot Mess Loves You was formed in Chico, California in the summer of 2009, and recorded their debut album, Learn to Sleep With the Light On which was released on April 22, 2011. From 2010 to 2012, they were accompanied by Pete Parada on drums.

Nashville, TN and Waiting to Burn (2012–present)

In January, 2012, the band relocated to Nashville, TN. Soon after, Hot Mess Loves You became a "Fantastic Four" finalist in Nashville's independent radio station, WRLT Lightning 100's local battle of the bands, "Music City Mayhem". In July, 2012, the band began working on pre-production for their EP, Waiting to Burn, produced by two-time Grammy winner Chad Carlson. The EP was successfully crowd funded via Kickstarter in August, 2012. Waiting to Burn was released digitally in January, 2013, and physically on March 16, 2013 at their EP release show at the Rutledge in Nashville, TN. On March 27, 2013, the band officially changed their name to Hot Mess Loves You
